This is the one!
If youre looking for an app to download websites that...
1. Works every time
2. Is easy to figure out, but also has good docs
3. Does not require knowledge of archaic html terminology just to start it up
4. Is the best...
You found it right here! Ive tried a lot of these types of programs over the years to see if by chance there was something better. But you know what? There are none better than SiteSucker.
Ive been using the free version for many years and have received friendly help and suggestions from the developer, Rick, several times. I dont know what the difference is between this version and the one Ive been using (until today), but I figured the least I could do was make the purchase. The app itself has already saved me way more than 1000 xs the $4.00 price tag. (only 4 dollars?)
Ive been running a web development and hosting company for the past 19 years. I cant tell you how many times this app has saved by butt and made me come out looking like a genius for retrieving an old site for a customer whos previous developer has disappeared and now doesnt have a clue on how to gain back the control of it.
There are so many excellent features but the one I appreciate the most is the localization. It will take a site coded in php or any other language, and it deliver it to your Mac as a functioning html website. It may not have some of the functionality of the original coding language but you still have the complete site, images, content, links and all, right there on your desktop.
Ive been using it quite a bit lately to convert traditionally coded sites to WordPress and it saves me hours and hours.
Take it from someone with a ton of experience... SiteSucker is your best choice!
